I'm Shariyah, an illustrator based in Northampton. My work revolves around crafting playful, character-driven stories that explore a mix of whimsical, fantastical worlds and relatable everyday moments - or sometimes a blend of both.

Much of my inspiration comes from my surroundings, as I delve into the world, people, and experiences around me through my sketchbook (whether it's my own perspective or that of others). I work in both traditional and digital mediums, choosing whichever fits the themes and moods of a project. Over time, I've developed a deeper appreciation for the 'human touch' in my illustrations, learning to embrace the roughness of a sketch and the small imperfections in my linework.

I primarily express myself through comics, as they're my preferred way to tell stories and communicate visually. Comics give me the freedom to explore emotions, ideas, scenarios, and narratives across different formats and panels.
